BigRed A-Team 1

When commissioned to build the A-Team fleet, I originally planned to search far and wide for the right vehicles. The first week was easily spent doing nothing more than researching classifieds and analyzing details of about 20 different vehicles located and weighing the pros and cons of each..

Our deadline however prevented us from having the luxury of carefully selecting each vehicle. They were in a serious hurry, so it became more of a 'take what you can get and take it quick' type of search. We actually purchased 8 vehicles once it was said and done, one being regulated to a parts vehicle, one becoming stuck up north and one being denied by the customers due to a government title that would take too long to process.

This was the first van purchased, bought on Friday of the first week of the project, now easily a full 7 days into our 4 week marathon....

It was found locally, and while not ideal, was in the right place at the right time. This was also the most expensive vehicle we purchased. We paid more than it was worth, certainly, but time was a more important problem.

The windshield was replaced first, and the door had to be replaced because of the window. We now offer side window delete panels which you can find in our parts section.

The van had been a work van, and had many, many little dings and dents all along both sides, but was overall a decent vehicle.

After the body kit was in place, the van was primed in NCP270.
In our standard base models, we apply the red first. It allows us to produce a higher quality paint finish, but takes longer and time was not on our side. for the purposes of the 5 BigRed vans, the gunmetal was applied first.
The black went on second.
Then the red stripe was added, identical to the television show.

Then wheels and other parts were added.
